You’ve given your children some chewing gum as a little treat. As you get busy preparing afternoon tea, they go off to play in their room. When you come in to tell them their afternoon tea is ready you notice the chewing gum mushed into the carpet.
We know your instead reaction is to freak out because ‘it’s impossible to get gum out of the carpet’.
You don’t need to worry. Follow these three steps and the chewing gum come off.
Step 1: Chill the area well with ice cubes in a plastic bag.
Step 2: With a spoon or knife, gently scrape off the chewing gum.
Step 3: Dry stains remover can be very handy. If you have some available, use a little amount on the area.
The rule of thumb with stains is if you can eat or drink it, you should be able to get it out of the carpet.
We recommend getting a full professional carpet clean every 12 to 18 months.
